Every one in three Asian Americans in the U.S. resides in Californiamaking it it the state with the biggest Asian American population (6.8 million), followed by New York  (2 million) and Texas (1.6 million).

The mean individual income of Asian Americans is $41,947, 26% higher than the U.S. average ($33,315); 

The mean household income is $85,000, 42% higher than the over all U.S. population ($60,000).  

Education

Over half (52%) of Asian Americans over the age of 25 hold a bachelor’s degree or higher as compared to 32% of the total population, the highest of any ethnic or racial group.

 

Career

A quarter of Asian Americans 25 and older work in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), as compared to 12% of the total population.

Other top industries of employment are: arts and entertainment (11%), retail (11%), and manufacturing (11%).

Household

27% of Asian Americans living in a households with multiple generations, versus only 15% of the total population do.
