Income

The mean individual income of Asian Americans is $41,947, 26% higher than the U.S. average ($33,315); 

The median household income is $85,800, 38% higher than the over all U.S. population ($61,800).  

Education

Over half (54%) of Asian Americans over the age of 25 hold a bachelor’s degree or higher as compared to 32% of the total population, the highest of any ethnic or racial group.

 

Career

A quarter of Asian Americans 25 and older work in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), as compared to 12% of the total population.

Other top industries of employment are: arts and entertainment (11%), retail (11%), and manufacturing (11%).

Household

27% of Asian Americans living in a households with multiple generations, versus only 15% of the total population do. 

Language

81% Asian Americans over the age of 5 report that they speak English well or very well, but the majority (65%) of Asian Americans speak a language other than English.
